Herbert Irwin (trans) D. Ramee: THE DEATH OF JESUS Photographic Manuscript
nd 1990s 138 individual photoographic prints (approx 210 x 145mm) plus roll of original film in small metal cannister. A couple of annotations in red pen on the first couple of photographs, overall VG+.
"The Death of Jesus, or, historical revelations on the true death of Jesus, translated from the Latin into German, and from the German into French - from the manuscript pf a brother of the sacred order of the essenians, who was contemporary with Jesus. By D. Ramee, Paris 1860. Translated from the French by Herbert Irwin 1875."
An interesting manuscript, translated by Irwin, who is known for his occult translations and compilations including The Book of Magic (published by The Society For Esoteric Endeavour). Reproduced in black and white and printed from the negative strip in the cannister.
Interestingly, the label on the film cannister erroneously credits the manuscript to Aleister Crowley.
