Titled Grandier in pencil on the bottom right corner. A simple but stylish rendition of Urbain Grandier, with Devil forming above his shoulder. Grandier was a Catholic priest burnt at the stake for witchcraft following the infamous Devils of Loudon case in the 1630s. Notably portrayed by Oliver Reed in Ken Russell's 1970s masterpiece The Devils.
